This stuff showed up in a client's inbox as follows: /////// From: Microsoft Services <xxxxxxx@nyu.edu> Date: Tue, Sep 10, 2013 at 10:17 AM Subject: Sign in prevented To: ***** We have just prevented a sign-in attempt on your Email account from another location, CLICK HERE to activate your Anti-Spam and verify your profile. Your prompt response regarding this matter is appreciated. Sincerely, Microsoft Services \\\\\\\ Take note of the reply email domain next to "Microsoft Services" up at the top of the quoted email text. My client questioned the veracity of the above email, and I immediately told them to STAY AWAY. I clicked the link on a sandboxed test machine and was taken to "http://aessb.com/global/microsoft/index.html" (best you not click that link, it's hot, and not in a nice way) where a page attempts to harvest not only your email address, but also the password for that email address. I filled it out with false info and clicked the submit button and was promptly taken to ***** Not a very good way to gain new business if you ask me. You have been warned.
