Is spideroak.com Safe?

Don't trust your files to be safe there; it appears to appeal to illegal uses due to lack of a reliable abuse contact and its "Zero knowledge" advertising. If you would like to risk having your files deleted in a Megaupload style raid, then by all means use them.

There lacking so many settings like the ability to turn off back up automation, you MUST install there software to use them and can not simply use an online interface and they don't uninstall properly and leave all sorts of files. THose 3 strikes are enough for me to block them for an eternity and at best personal reference however, heads up to all else. I would avoid these kind of things i call :"Nany-ware".

Good file sharing / back-up. Except that it is a little slow sometimes, it works nicely. Because the stored data is encrypted, your data will stay private except for when you share it using the available sharing functions. Although this offer better privacy than -say- Dropbox (http://get-dropbox.tk), the drawback is that if you loose your password, you'll lose your data that's encrypted with it. Always make sure you will remember your password. Solid, well-designed backup system that works over multiple computers and platforms. Flexible restore options. Friendly and helpful customer service. Better than DropBox for backups, but quite not as flexible for auto-synchronising between computers.
