I've been using Strongmail for years and they've been nothing if not professional. As mirrored earlier my spam complaints have actually went down, and at the slightest hint of problem they're on our case immediately.

Unfortunately, just because they're a marketing firm doesn't mean that they get to ignore laws. For the last 6 months I've been receiving various newsletters from MTV/CMT/Nick via strongmail without signing up for them, and requesting unsubscribe via hitting the unsubscribe link in the emails (unsubscribe requests are supposed to be handled by strongmail), only to have those unsubscribe requests completely ignored. Be wary.

There is nothing wrong with this site or this company. Yes, they are an email appliance Vendor but they are not spammers. Our company uses Strongmail appliances to manage millions of emails sent on behalf of our Clients (typically large organizations like Universities or other Non-profits). In fact, the Strongmail appliances actually have reduced our spam complaints tremendously. Our Clients form their email and will blast it out to all Alumni (opt-in only). Sometimes the Client will use email addresses that are not valid and the ISP's will flag us as spammers and blacklist us. The Strongmail appliance shows us what mail is being dropped/blocked etc and why. Then we go back to the Client, tell them to clean up their email list. Then Strongmail works directly with the ISP's to white list us. They do a great job at it. We are while listed with all the major ISP's now (AOL, Yahoo, Gmail etc) thanks to Strongmail. Just because a company sends out lots of email, that in and of itself does not mean they are spammers. If the recipients opt-in, then it is not unsolicited email.

These guys are exactly what they claim to be. They aren't trying to trick anybody. It's an email marketing firm. That doesn't make them "unsafe". If WOT confuses truly nefarious sites with "capitalistic" sites, then its usefulness and reputation for fairness will suffer.
