This is a good site for finding people to do various jobs for you from blue collar jobs to high-tech professionals. It's as good if not better than Angie's List. I simply can't imagine why some of the comments here are so negative. This is a very trustworthy site!

I received a lead from an ad I put on Craig's List from someone claiming to live in my area who needed help with the simplest video editing tool. The way he typed indicated that he was not American. The last email I got from him said: "Am I correct in assuming you are skilled in the use of Microsoft Live Movie Maker? I have downloaded some film from my camcorder which I want to edit and download to a dvd. Is this something you can do?" After I confirmed my availability, the job was marked complete and my free lead was gone. They Spammed me in so I could pay them to compete with 250 others in my town that do the same things I offer.

I use this site to promote my caricature business, Caricatures for Christ, and I have had only success with it.

I've had no experience with spam from this site. However, as a service provider paying for leads generated by Thumbtack, I have been disappointed, since the leads, although not expensive, are apparently sold to many other service providers. I have never gotten actual work thru any leads I paid for here.

I joined this thumbtack.com site just to get a profile for my online jewelry shop "Jonara Blu Maui". I've never received any spam from it ever. It actually has made my name be listed on a google search top of the page for "beach bride jewelry made on maui" ..which would be great..but now there is a yellow web of trust warning by the link with my name which leads people to this page where someone is saying 'bad customer experience'..I know they aren't talking about me..but shoot..I hope no one reads it wrong and thinks they are :(
