THis site gives you a good spread of alternative news. I've found it interesting every time I logs onto it. I'll have to visit it more regularly by putting it in my Speed Dial page.

It was a couple of years ago. They had a very feisty forum going on and many people formed many relationships, bared souls, took risks, wrote daily and for hours. One midnight it was gone. I still feel the shock and loss. OK, get a life I know, but these ongoing soulful interchanges become part of my experience. Am I alone on this? I do sort of understand since the forum was probably meant to increase readership and contributions and we tended to ignore their topics and blast away. We didn't give much $$ I guess, and some of us got a bit critical and demanding of the publishers and some rather dark aspects of souls emerged. BUT! Why not some warning? Give some a chance to get emails etc? I boycott them because of it but when I peek, they are still the greatest at the edge of the world.

Truthout does not sell anything, so vendor reliability is irrelevant. Concerning privacy, they ask for a small amount of private information only when registering to receive their news digest or when making a donation. They do not sell or give away your private information. I have had no problems with them concerning my private information. Spam: I receive only what I ask for. That is not spam. The only things I receive in addition are their monthly pleas for donations. Only those receiving their newsletters receive those. I do not call that spam, but rather equate it to the fund drives on public radio and T.V. Regarding Trustworthiness: They publish their own news articles and republish articles from a wide variety of sources. They are far more balanced in their presentation than many other news sites. Do they have a bias? Certainly, but so does every news reporting site in existence. They publish the truth as they see it. Are there differing viewpoints? Of course, but that does not make them untrustworthy. They deliver what they promise.
