Is ultimate-guitar.com Safe?

Terrible experience, I feel robbed. I signed up for a free trial period and was fool enough to give them my PayPal details. 7 days after they charged me 100EUR as an annual subscription fee. They claim that I gave my consent but I did not. The only mention of a charge was in a lengthy "Terms and Conditions" file which I did not carefully read. There was no notification that a charge was imminent. I immediately asked for a refund, without having used their digital content whatsoever, and they denied. They only gave me a partial refund and charged me 25EUR for a monthly subscription which I did not even need. They normally charge 5 or 8 per month. I have sent to them around 20 emails. They either do not reply, or reply in a condescending way repeating the same answers over and over. There is no goodwill return policy. I assume they make a lot of easy money with this free trial shady tactic. Definitely avoid or be super careful with them. Make sure to cancel the auto renewal (if you can, some people have trouble with that too).

I was searching for a song, "Always On A Mountain When I Fall" by Merle Haggard for a friend. They said they had it, but I had to sign up first to see it. I signed up for ONE month, Song wasn't there. Figured "Oh well, just lost $3. Then they set me up for automatic renewal WITHOUT my permission, not an easy thing to cancel. Information on how to do so is not in their help section. Had to create a trouble ticket to resolve. Unless you're a guitar player with money to spare, I'd avoid this site.

After a long absence from playing, this site is perfect for looking up information, chords, lyrics....the various album reviews were interesting also, a Floyd link brought me here. Stayed awhile, enjoyed the varied writings. Nice, kid-ok site for guitar players.

Egh - I wish this were a better site. I've spent hundreds of hours on this site, but end-up wasting my time every day I visit. There are tons of tabs, but almost all of them are terrible quality. Everything is rated "5 stars", so its hard to judge the good tabs from the bad. It's faster to learn from ear or buy the accurate stuff from regular websites rather than waste my time on this site. If you are a beginner guitarist / 13-year old kid just learning the guitar, this site is great for you. Otherwise, stay away.
