Is venturebeat.com Safe?

Sends unsolicited 'newsletters', apparently to email addresses on purchased email lists. Volumes are high -- typically 2-3 unsolicited messages to each address per day. Gmail now flags some emails from Venturebeat, noting "Many people marked similar messages as spam". This suggests that Venturebeat is targeting large numbers of unwilling recipients.

There is some very good content in there. The problem is the number and severity of the trackers to block is IMO obscene. If you don't know how to run things like NoScript and Request Policy it likely is not a place to go. The other complaint I have that almost is about to sink the review further down are the number of fawning uncritical green reviews. IMO that looks suspicious. Light green is generous here.
