The software is an add-on for wordprocessing, so it hooks in to the keyboard.  This causes some anti-virus programs to mark it as a trojan.  I've been using it for about six years with no issues.

Interesting geeky guy with lots of information and a bunch of free stuff for use with websites.

This site was recommended by Lifehacker for the program "AX" which allows easy typing of character accents.

Site is safe, anti-virus scanners and other programs just falsely associating this program with malware. He has also mentioned this on the site.

This site does not deserve the poor rating. It's all because of the way the program works in Windows. Anitvirus and malware detection programs may give a faults positive as explained on the site. Those who rate it as malicious must be unaware of the faults positive issue. WOT may be unnessarily driving many people away for what is a very useful and safe freeware product based on uninformed opinions.

The negative comments found here are those of uninformed people who have not tried to go beyond false positive results given by various antivirus programs. AX (@ http://vulpeculox.net/ax/ ) is published under the GNU general public licence V3. It is an open source piece of software put together with autohotkey, a very well known tool to all people who are interested in this type of application. You can check all of this out, as well as a number of other most interesting details in the extensive documentation the author generously delivers with the software itself. Besides, Eset (nod32), Norton, AVG, Google Safe Browsing and Online Link Scan all consider it to be innocuous. Please read comments by axauthor and stop spreading false information.

I run this site and write the programs. vulpeculox.net *does not* distribute malware. The AX program that gives malware scanners the creeps is based on AutoHotkey which legitimately hooks the keyboard to provide accented characters. (And is a cool way to do so in Windows.)
