Is weatherbug.com Safe?

I opened up the weatherbug app on my iPhone. A popup appeared in the app, asking me to fill out a brief survey for a chance to win an iPad. After the survey it said I won, and it will be shipped if I provide a CC number, which I did. Fraudulent charges immediately started appearing on my account, which I closed. It was a very professional, sophisticated interface, which duped me.

Have not had any trouble on the site, but I am not allowing any scripts to run. They seem to be running scripts from at least five script servers as well as their own scripts. Be cautious. Do not confuse suitability with safety for it is possible for a child to be safe on an unsuitable website.

Weatherbug is useful for obtaining information on real-time weather. Yes they may have adware included when downloading their software, but they state what is also included, and they give an option to uncheck/not include it. If you blindly download and install everything, and then complain afterwards, don't blame Weatherbug for your inability to understand how to pick and choose what you want. Blame yourself for your own stupidity for not researching before hand.

This site is known for installing malware/adware and should be avoided. There are many very good to outstanding weather information sites and services that can be used instead of Weather Bug. Yahoo Weather, which I have used for years, has an outstanding reputation for safe and accurate weather information.. Users should visit Yahoo Weather for a better and safer weather experience than Weather Bug.

Site seems safe. They got a bad wrap. See ***** Their free software is adware, but they are not hiding it, "ADVERTISING FREE-WEATHERBUG PLUS SUBSCRIPTION SERVICES. The software is provided for your use, as described above, advertising-free for an annual subscription fee."

This site is very useful for getting very accurate weather information. My question is, why does this site have a bad rating if several news stations (like KDKA-TV2 Pittsburgh) use it? I have purchased WeatherBug Plus from them with no problem and have even bought their WeatherBug Elite iPhone app from the iTunes App Store.

Is known for downloading viruses even if the program is not running. It runs a hidden program to download the viruses and executes them. Tested on a system that had no other programs and never surfed the web on. Anti-virus warned of an attack and shut the system down.

I LOVE WEATHERBUG. THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN RIGHT ON AT ALERTING ME ABOUT INCOMING BAD WEATHER. THEIR FORECASTS BEAT ANY LOCAL REPORTING. AS FOR THE SPYWARE/MALWARE ??? THEY HAVE NEVER COME UP ON ANY SCANS I HAVE DONE. AND I HAVE SEVERAL SECURITY SYSTEMS IN PLACE. I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY HAVE A BAD RATING, MAYBE IT'S THEIR DOMAIN THAT'S BEEN RATED AS BAD, I DON'T KNOW. I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT WEATHERBUG AND IF I TRIED MY FINGERS WOULD GO ALL NUMB FROM TYPING! LOVE
