Wow, every review sounds like an advertisement. Of course, the company knows about WOT, but surely they wouldn't have their employees give biased ratings- would they??? I don't know about the site, but as for the software, it is horrible. It gives me warnings about every Windows process that runs in the background. It doesn't know what to block, or what to allow, so it leaves the decision up to the user. So, now, being afraid, because why would my anti-virus tell me to block this process? So the average user will block all the good Windows services that are supposed to be running. Your only other choice is to do your own research to find out which processes are safe and which are viruses. But, isn't supposed to be the job of your anti-virus? Believe me, I can write a program in half a day that blocks every process and asks the user if it is safe. Maybe this is why the program is so small- nothing there? I have in the past used Norton, McAfee, Panda, F-Secure, and others. None are as bad as webroot. Now this is a clients computer, so maybe my clients version has a problem, but others also have had bad experiences. Now PC mag gives this software a thumbs up, right? Well go down and read some of the comments. People are like, "What??? Why do they give this garbage a good rating?" Read carefully, because these guys create a lot of hype, but my own personal experience is that this software is garbage.

This site's only purpose appears to provide quick, reliable access to various pages within the company's other websites, "webroot.com". I'm a retired IT professional and have no vested interest in the Webroot company, other than being a customer and a user. I find nothing at all objectionable that would tarnish the reputation of this site or the companion Webroot websites. These sites also appear to be safe for children and sensitive users. Some Webroot websites do, however, have "trackers". Trackers -- advertising, analytics, beacons, widgets, cookies -- are found at many/most commercial websites and are not unexpected. Most trackers are easily defeated by free browser add-ons such as Ghostery and DoNotTrackMe. Based upon the impressive reputation of the Webroot product, having used the "click.service-webroot.com" site to visit the other sites, "webroot.com", and having an account on companion site "my.webrootanywhere.com", I would give these sites a very good rating. I have also seen the Webroot company's attempts to reach out to disaffected users, which is quite notable. Just like all anti-virus and anti-malware products, there are users who have had a bad experience with the Webroot product per se -- not the web sites. Nonetheless, most users have had a good experience with the product, and it has received very good reviews within the IT community. I've not read anything negative about Webroot's sites.
