Ask your existing creditors if you can repay them a little late, they might say yes. If the 'Short Term Loans' are used "Responsibly" and "Within you OWN Financial Means", then Wonga provides a quick and convenient service. They Do Not 'Mislead' anybody as their terms are Very clearly stated. My experience with Wonga has been Positive; I use then ONLY if I have to. And it comes in handy when I rarely need a few day's/ a weeks worth of money before pay day. So to me they are a valuable source of financial assistance when I'm really stuck. On signing up, they request Proof of your income - via attachments - and only give a credit limit based on your income. The bottom line is to use them "Responsibly" and not "Depend" on them. Basically only ask for financial "Help" when you have no other alternative. I go months without using their service. But when I need them - they are a valuable asset which I am Very grateful for. I'm glad they are there. If people have debt issues, then Wonga is Not the answer which they clearly state and debt advice is encouraged. If their service if used correctly and ONLY if 'Needed', then it's a help. (No I don't work for them; I am a rare user of their service)

All the comments on here of the like of `review your own personal finances`, get off your high horses! Not everyone has a well paying job and sometimes making ends meet is a challenge. I agree the charges are high, but managed correctly, i.e. paid on time or early, they`re not really that bad. I`ve just borrowed £100, renewed once so repaid 2 months later, and cost me £47 in interest. Including a fee of £10 for renewing. No worse than any high street cheque cashing shop.

The comments on this page are remarkable! 1. There's nothing illegal about what Wonga do 2. Wonga are very, very, VERY clear about what they do -- and what they do isn't that bad, You can't interpret the ethics of a loan based only on APR, It's not like a long term loan - It's really just a matter of "lend me £100 for two weeks and I'll give you £120 back", which really isn't that bad. 3. If you don't have a lot of support in your life, services like wonga can be really helpful - I've never had a Mum or a Dad, or a Brother or a Sister to lend me the odd £100, I'd be homeless by now if not for wonga. I can only imagine that the negative remarks here are coming from wretchedly smug middle class, who think they've done oh so well in life all by themselves, who've never suffered enough to see what they've been given and as a result feel although they have a right to cast comment on the lives of the "lower classes" ( because you can only be poor if you're a fuckup, right?) Either that or those who would be stupid enough not to pay the loan back on time, and have been brutalised by wonga as a result - Well, You should've kept your damn word! - the wonga website isn't shy about telling you how mean they'll get if you don't pay.
