Update. Все-таки ребята там совсем ухи объелись. Билеты на сайте Венской Оперы стоят 192 евро, а у них 450! A brief summary in English. Tickets in the booking office of the Vienna Opera costs 192 Euro in WTC 450 Euro!!!!!. . Tickets for the concert AC/DC: 80 euro, in WTC 140 Euro.

Worldticketshop is a legitimate Secondary Ticket Company and legitimate Web 2.0 startup in the Netherlands. They have sold over 100,000 tickets since founded. Don't you think that if they were a scam they would have been shut down? (in response to the other post). Worldticketshop was contacted by the BBC prior to that broadcast and emailed them the following. Yet their self proclaimed 'ticket fraud' expert decided to lump us them in with a number of other companies, despite our cooperation. ________________________________ Like many new Internet startups, Worldticketshop started as an idea amongst a group of students in a University in the Netherlands. Fired with entrepreneurial spirit, What was just an idea, quickly became a reality fast and the company has risen from zero to 35 in less than three years. It's one of the fastest growing startup companies in Holland. As the business started to grow, so did the staff - and now numbers well over 30 people whose various nationalities give the company a multicultural flavour. With staff from Mexico, Canada, the UK, Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Poland, Holland and more, the blend of youth and adventurous spirit has created a dynamic and 'smart' young operation. Worldticketshop was started in 2006 to help meet the demands in the secondary ticket market. The company has worked hard to build a vast network of ticket brokers and agents worldwide in order to connect people looking for 'hard-to-get' tickets with the events they wish to attend. There is a misconception that online secondary ticket providers directly buy and sell tickets. They don't - they connect buyers and sellers. It's not an easy task for our team to shed the residue of the past with words like 'Tout' and 'Scalper' deeply ingrained in the English lexicon... probably since the days of Shakespeare and the Globe Theatre in London. It's the natural law of supply and demand, and it's not anything new. But we are working hard to chip away at the prejudicial attitudes that stain the industry. Secondary Ticket Industry Globally, the secondary ticket market is worth an estimated $10 billion and has come a long way from being dominated by 'touts' and 'scalpers'. The secondary market used to be the guy in a trench-coat standing in a dark corner... Now, you can buy virtually any ticket for any event, anywhere. And you can do it on your own time from the privacy of your home, office or wherever your computer is. It's now a legitimate business that even primary ticket companies such as Ticketmaster have now capitalised on and ventured into the secondary ticket market with ***** Even professional sports teams are involved in the secondary market. The demand for Chicago Cubs tickets is so high that the team set up their own secondary event ticket market with a team-owned ticket broker. Few people realise, but in fact the biggest players of all in the secondary event ticket market are the members of eBay, which as a group sell more than $300 million in event tickets annually and boast by far the biggest community of buyers and sellers. * There is a misconception that online secondary ticket providers directly buy and sell tickets. They don't - we connect buyers and sellers. And deal with brokers and primary ticket agencies as well as individuals who sell extra or unused tickets. * According to an eBay spokesperson who spoke to the London Times, “Companies such as eBay claim that sports such as rugby and tennis are the victims of their own policies of selling large allocations to sports clubs and corporate bodies, rather than the public, thus fuelling secondary demand.” “The real reason people can't get hold of tickets for sporting events is because more are going to corporate bigwigs.” These tickets often end up on the Secondary Market. * Whatever they try to ban, that business will just be driven offshore to firms that you can't control, who may well rip people off. A significant number of jobs in Holland will be lost if legislation is enacted in the Secondary Ticket Market. * The cure is not litigation or legislation, but competition. There needs to be more alternate ticket sellers -- either other ticket companies or ticket brokers or even legalized scalpers -- to make the ticket market work efficiently. * To fans, the Secondary Ticket Market looks like a ripoff. But to economists, it looks like a classic case of supply and demand. * Every time people have outlawed things like this you create a black market where there is fraud and higher prices. * Event organisers (Concert Promoters Association) in the UK believe that they are fighting a lost battle against the Secondary Ticket Market . It has always opposed secondary ticketing and recently said that it was forming its own resale box office. * Sports teams in the USA (such as Chicago Cubs) are setting up their own team-owned brokers in the Secondary Ticket Market. * Less than a minute after tickets for last August's Neil Diamond concerts at New York's Madison Square Garden went on sale, more than 100 seats were available for hundreds of dollars more than their normal face value on premium-ticket site TicketExchange.com. The seller? Neil Diamond. Artists themselves are in the Secondary Ticket Market. Recent concerts where the artists and promoters resold tickets on the secondary market and split the profits with Ticketmaster include Neil Diamond, Bon Jovi, Celine Dion, Van Halen, Billy Joel, Elton John, and possibly Britney Spears, says the Consumerist. They even claim the people behind a good deal of the really expensive secondary market tickets are the artists themselves, along with their agents and promoters. * The biggest player in the Secondary Ticket Market globally is ***** * Worldticketshop is a young, vibrant, Internet Startup that has fairly positioned itself well in the global Secondary Ticket Market space due to a large investment and wide strategy in ensuring strong Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) placement. This is equivalent to paying rent to be on the High Street of the Internet in British terminology. * Like many Startups dreamt up by intelligent university students, Worldticketshop is spiced with youth and entrepreneurial spirit. The company has made mistakes in the past, some due to inexperience and others due to the greyness of the entire Secondary Ticket Industry. They have lived and learnt - and have worked hard to legitimise the operation to ensure they are transparent, legal and honest. * Attending events holds a lot of emotion for many - whether they are finally going to see the band they have followed on Cd's since they were children, or national fervour is spiked when Holland plays Germany for instance. But the bottom line is, attending such events is a privilege, not a right. If the demand outstrips the supply then the market dictates prices will be high. Just because people really want to go, does not mean they have a right to a cheap tickets. Many people would love a Ferrari as well. We are not talking about a commodity such as grain or soy which is essential in keeping people alive... we are talking about entertainment and leisure, which are not food groups. * Worldticketshop's service is... to essentially take the pain out of getting a ticket... no waiting in line in the rain, no dealing with a shady guy a the gate with no guarantee... in fact, clients don't even have to leave the house - they can do it from the comfort of their home. The ticket(s) simply arrive in a reliable Fedex envelop or in the case of the U.K. Special Delivery with Royal Mail. And the client simply attends the event. And they are willing to pay for our service. And they guarantee if we can't do the deal, they earn money back. http://www.worldticketshop.com/buyer_guarantee * Worldticketshop primarily deals with clients that are willing to pay extra to take all the work and hassle out of getting a ticket for an important event. So rather them having to deal with it... it's us. And that's what Worldticketshop are good at because they have worked hard to build a global network of reliable ticket brokers worldwide. * Worldticketshop honours the prices they set... and have a 120 percent return policy as can be seen here - http://www.worldticketshop.com/buyer_guarantee * Both the UK and USA have Secondary Ticket Industry organisations - ***** , ***** and even secondary ticket conventions in the USA - ***** * If you pay for something with your own cash, you're free to sell it at the best price you can get. No one would dream of telling you what price to sell an unwanted CD for. If someone has an unwanted ticket, why shouldn't they have the right to sell it at the price someone else is willing to pay, just like anything else? How come tickets cost so much sometimes? How does Worldticketshop determine the pricing? Prices are based on supply and demand - brokers and agents with whom they source from set the prices and when they buy them, they mark them up fairly and reasonably. They don't gouge or rip people off and generally work on a 30 percent markup but that can vary depending on sources, the fluctuating market, etc. Please note, the difference in the price on a ticket and what a client paid Worldticketshop is generally not our markup. It's not about Worldticketshop buying tickets at face value and simply spinning that into huge profits... sometimes the tickets go through many hands and prices before they get to them and eventually to clients. Essentially what Worldticketshop offers is convenience. Clients don't have to stand in line, they don't have to hit the event with 'hope' and try to find and deal with 'shady' characters who vanish into the night at the gates and offer no guarantees. Worldticketshop clients can kick back from the comfort of their home, pay for their tickets and then simply attend the event on the night... and if things don't work out... such as Sting catches a cold, or Winehouse can't be woken up... clients get their money back.
