Is www.bee.com Safe?

I don't know how this site has gathered a good rating on WOT. I tried to purchase a book from them because they said it was in stock and in-stock items usually ship in 24 hours of ordering- I was buying it as a gift for someone and needed it sent off promptly. I then read massive amounts of bad reviews about the site on other forums talking about how orders could take months to complete or were cancelled without warning or communication from the company. My own order still says awaiting despatch 3 days after ordering when I expected it to be shipped the next day or at least have an email from the company saying it was delayed. So I tried to contact them to find out what was going on. I called a number of times and never reached anyone- the phone disconnected each time with the message that the recipient is not accepting calls. I've emailed but am not optimistic about receiving a reply- other buyers from this site have said they've never had a response despite waiting weeks. There's also no clear cut way to cancel an order. You have to write them and specify you want to cancel, which I've now done. But I'm not at all convinced that will work seeing as they don't seem to be on top of their emails from other users comments. Anyway, I would not recommend this site at all, even if I do wind up receiving my book.
