Is thaivisa.com Safe?

As the name suggests, this site has loads of information on everything related to visas in Thailand. The site self provides reliable information with links to websites of Thai government sites. Beware of stories about sudden alarming changes in requirements to get or extend a visa, when those are contributed by members. That is always 'news' passed on from one person to another and another (and probably often in pubs) which turns out to be just scaremongering. I consider this domain as far as the 'news' sections goes, as less reliable than the forum teakdoor.com. 'News' often exists of unverified articles in the English language rags Bangkok Post and The Nation. Both those papers are known to be mostly staunch propaganda vehicles for ultra-nationalists. And both are notorious for their complete lack of investigating journalism. If such paper, or a (state) TV station is told anything by an 'official,' that will be presented as truth, no matter how ludicrous. An embarrassing example was when (some years ago) the mayor of Chiangmai was not questioned, when he blamed barbecues from Korean restaurants for the heavy smog. Everybody knew that that smog is (yearly) occurring because of the traditional slash-and-burning of fields, and alas of more and more pieces of (protected) forest.
