Safari and Opera don’t currently allow browser extensions in the same way as Firefox and Internet Explorer do, and therefore, providing WOT for these environments is not feasible. However, as a response to requests from our users, we have created a WOT bookmarklet that brings at least some of the functionality to the users of these two popular browsers.
If you are using Safari or Opera, you can add the WOT bookmarklet to your browser simply by dragging this link to your bookmarks.
Using the bookmarklet is simple: click the bookmark and it will display a WOT popup on the page, showing ratings for the current site. Another click will hide the popup. This gives you an easy access to WOT reputation data, although you won't be able to give your own ratings.
Update: The competition has ended and prizes have been dispatched to winners. Thank you for participating!
Lets join our forces to grow the WOT community! Help us by inviting your friends to join WOT. You score one point for each invitation. This contest will run until the end of January, so you've got plenty of time to tell your friends.
Any email addresses that you provide us are used only to deliver your message, and they are deleted once the competition is over.
Mashable Social Networking News published on December 4th an affirmative article on WOT. The editor Kristen Nicole starts her story by telling that “Ben Stiller had the Circle of Trust, and us nerds get the Web of Trust.” Kristen describes our reputation rating service and concludes that WOT has a lot of potential and could prove beneficial for web surfers based on the contributions of its users. We released a new version of WOT for Firefox today. This version completes the enhancements that were initiated in the last update on November 16th. Registered users can now customize their level of protection by setting the limits that trigger a warning for each component individually. For example, the user may set the system to issue a warning for unsatisfactory reputation for vendor reliability, while letting the other reputation components give a warning only in case the reputation falls into the poor area.
In addition to a warning issued by WOT, the user can now also set the system to block the access to site that trigger the protection. This function is helpful in cases where the system is used to protect minors, for example.
