Ist alec.org sicher?

Entirely misleading; they claim to support free speech, educational freedom, and liberalism, but in fact they are a group of lobbyists who are only looking out for the big corporations that fund them. They are literally out here writing the most extreme bills that threaten our environment and the middle and lower classes. I don't care if you're republican, democrat, or anything else, these guys aren't on your side and I wouldn't trust a word on this site. There are a lot of comments saying these reviews are wrong because they're politically motivated, but the site itself is politically motivated, and it's genuinely lying to you. It's not a cyber safety thing, but those aren't the only available complaints on WOT because they're trying to protect you in real life as well.

This site and organization is a source of anti-democratic political disinformation, conspiracy theory (election fraud in America) and is not a source of valid news or health information. Funding comes from "dark money" (Koch brothers) sources which represents ethics problems and s deliberate attempt to subvert democratic representation in America. See: ***** ***** *****

I can not believe how childish the people who are rating this website are. There is nothing unsafe about this site. Just because you do not agree with the politics of the website doesnt mean you should act like a child. Grow up. Or better yet, just ignore it!

This is a political site. As such, it contains statements that some people disagree with. I wish those people would either stop flagging the sites of certain ideologies, or would flag ALL sites of ALL ideologies. There is no malicious logic (spam, virus, malware, etc) on this site. There is nothing objectionable about the site's content outside of the political arena. (Inside the political arena, all sites' content should be considered objectionable.)

if you don't like this site, its undoubtedly because you come from a politically liberal persuasion. It is a group of legislators, businesses, and foundations that are politically conservative. The idea that this is dangerous to children is patently absurd. Clearly, there are a large number of liberal fascists on the internet that cannot abide opposing views.

I am a fiscal conservative, and an independent otherwise. I am not a communist and I love what remains of the democracy we call the US. And I would like to say 2 things about this site's ratings & comments, and about ALEC. 1. Yes, I agree that it is a bit inaccurate that this site is targeted as a bad site, *obviously* it is not releasing computer viruses or being unsafe towards children. However I believe it is appropriate for people to use WOT to share that it is an untrustworthy organization. Note the pull-down allows you to state a category for your review, one of them being Ethical Issues. ALEC is fraught with ethical issues that cannot be written off with uninformed claims of 'communism'. This is just silly. If you don't believe me see #2 2. ALEC is a "nonprofit" that allows the extremely wealthy and influential, and extremely large corporations, to hide billions of dollars of influence in the legislative process, especially at local and state levels. There is nothing democratic about it. There is nothing honest about it. If you are skeptical and think ALEC is doing good in the world, take a closer look and you may not like what you find. ALEC writes laws - 'model' laws that are then tweaked by literally a word or two, and swiftly put through to approval. These laws benefit someone but they do NOT help the vast majority of the people in this country, they harm them. We are talking about basic consumer protection, public health issues, public safety. Please see: ***** This is just one of many resources, but I think most people respect Bill Moyers as a level headed moderate person. You may not know he is very wary of ALEC. I agree with conservatives on many things. But if you want less (bad) government, less corruption, and more of the liberties we used to have, please take a long honest look at ALEC.

I do not agree with the content of the site, but there is nothing wrong with it, per se. WOT needs to be careful and flag websites as bad the ones that can do bad things to your computer and not ones that have a different opinion like this one. I'm classifying this website as useless because I do not agree with the content, but I'm going to increase its rating because they should not be silenced.

I now understand why the "poor reputation" rating for ALEC. Those who oppose a free market society, those who oppose limited government and those who oppose federalism will stoop to the lowest levels to destroy any person who or any organization which supports Limited Government · Free Markets · Federalism. On the lowest level is the besmirching of a reputation by using such "services" as WOT!

This is a safe informative website from a widely respected civic organization. Liberals are marking it down solely because of politics. WebOfTrust, you need to stop their abuse of your rating system or else you will fail in your goal of being a "web of trust.".
