Scammed. They disable your software remotely and ask you for more money One of the many customers that got their product disabled remotely. One day I was using it, the next day it said that the registration code was expired. I got an absolutely absurd reply from support that basically told me to pay again. Needless to say, I not only won't be upgrading or ever using their products again but I've switched to Cinch and won't be looking back. Will be considering also a class-action lawsuit.

Now, all their "free" trials are encumbered with a variety of adware and in one case, even trojans. You are obliged to pay if you want what used to be available for free, and I cannot comment if the paid version is advert-, trojan- and spyware-free as I am not stupid enough to part with my money. Despite my explicitly telling the installer not to it went ahead and installed considerable junkware and potential malware and spyware. The 'Freecorder' application is spyware. Read the EULA. It as much as says the program is spyware. During installation of 'Freecorder' if you decide to click to read the terms/EULA you will be redirected to a website called 'ZugoSearch' which has a terrible WOT rating. After my web page changed by itself as soon as I downloaded one of their music capture software I put two and two together and figured out that it was probably this company. It took me four hours to battle it and the system restore feature was erased so that I couldn't use it. It turned my antivirus program off and had to be erased from about four other places until I turned the computer off, stuck an antivirus recovery cd in D drive. I don't ever want to use any of their products again.

Installing Freecorder toolbar also installs PriceGong which appears to be rootkit that's very difficult to remove. I found a warning about this and tested myself using Sandboxie. I wrote to Applian, they said "We do have that in the program". Then went on to say Applian is not responsible for what gets installed since I, the end user, perform the actual install. Although I appreciate their honesty I don't like their way of doing business. Deleted, and deleted Fast Video Downloader. Never going back.
