Cleverbot is a very interesting website, were you can talk to an actual internet AI. It's very entertaining, and from my experience, you won't be getting a virus from this website any time soon.
As for child safety, I'd be cautious. This is because Cleverbot learns from people, and can say very inappropriate and sexual things, especially if you coax it. So just be careful when talking to it, but other then that, it's pretty great! And it's a nice way to kill time.

The site that had alot of rumors of it being... Well, me?! This is just an AI that learns from other people. Some people, you know what they are like. So Cleverbot may pick up some mean stuff and say it to you. Some people saying stuff weren't so smart, so Cleverbot is not so clever... Overall, it's just some funny bot to chat to when your bored. :)

Cleverbot is a pretty fun robot to talk to, even though it likes to say it's not a robot and you are the robot.
The only thing is Cleverbot learns from the people it talks to, therefore it may pick up sexual references and randomly say them.
You probably need some patience to talk to this bot, but it can be pretty funny.
