Ages ago the network was synonymous with cable news and in time they dumbed it down into oblivion. They did it to attract stupid women who never were going to watch news in the first place. What really happened is they made it painful to watch and the ratings plunged. However, the site isn't as dumbed down. There actually is some news there! EDIT: Upon revisiting it I found it's new privacy policy to be even worse and the number of trackers to be too high. This is why users should run extensions like NoScript and Request Policy and block block block!

24JUN2015 As a Conservative, I used to visit the CNN web-site, mostly to post comments to stir up the Liberals. Espousing American Exceptionalism, the idea that working-age able-bodied adult who choose not to work and receive government assistance should be forced to surrender their right to vote....drove them insane! However, I have no longer have any use for CNN as I do not consider, in this day and age, a news source which has removed its Comments Section to be of any value in the market place. Additionally, the topics I would be interested in commenting on such as the attack on the American Embassy in Benghazi on the anniversary of 9-11 being a "coincidence", the "slow walking" of Conservative Tax Exempt status requests to conduct political activities prior to a Federal Election in the Swing State of Ohio and others, would not even be posted, thus no discussion by visitors could be initiated...though they did have articles on drivel such as whatever the KarTrashians were up to that day. A major tactic of Liberals is to shut down any Free Speech that does not align with their stance...the CNN website, as a result of closing their Comment section, in my opinion, epitomizes this common tactic by the Left. covers more feel good or noncontroversial stories,covers very little hard news and omits ,largely,conservative an libetarian sides of polititics with focus on lighter more liberal to neutral issues and omissions on non PC news items>seems biased toward liberal viewpoints against conservative by omission and more favorable to liberal slanted stories and politicians

Often censoring news, under the pretext of making time, how ever when you watch uncensored versions when its possible or reading transcripts that are recorded they often reveal how much CNN aims to defend the US State Department Line. Coverage of the Iraq war was very biased and censored, coverage of the war in Yugoslavia was also very biased. If you want real news go to ***** which now has a larger audience due to its coverage of the worlds issues from both sides of the story.
