Ist digsby.com sicher?

Tries VERY hard to install a bunch of junk you DON'T want too (well .... most people don't want it too). I had to opt out of either 4 or 5 different applications which weren't any part at all to do with the chat program itself. Since it is free, I tolerate that type stuff to a certain point. But anything OVER that point rapidly causes me to lose trust in the company. 1, 2, or PERHAPS 3 of these little "extras" are within that tolerable level. But when it takes more time to opt out of the packaged extras than it does to actually download the progran you were WANTING, then that's crossed the line over to simple spyware/adware/malware distributers. For that reason, I could give it no better than a middle-of-the-road unsatisfactory rating on most of the factors above. If they had tried just a bit LESS to load my computer up with junk, their rating would have been better. Obviously the application is at least somewhat popular, so I'm not going over-board & screaming "DANGER!!" .... but just be aware of what you WILL get if you don't read the fine-print. Only 1 of those things will be what you were probably wanting. The other 4-5 things will be mostly useless disk-wasters.

Used to contain spyware or adware of some sort years ago but no longer does. Great software, better than Pidgin or Miranda or any of those in my opinion, but Windows only. Definitely one of the most pleasing GUI's I've seen in an instant messenger. EDIT: Nevermind about the Windows only part, I just realized that they also released a Mac and Linux version.
