Cnet claims that their downloads have been tested to be Malware-free, but obviously that is false. I have downloaded a patch from this site, and it was snagged by my anti virus immediately. Not a good site at all.

Good safe site.

I have used ***** for many years and it has always been a reliable source for finding and trying new programs. It is even a good source for downloading new versions of programs you have and use. Take your time and read user reviews on this site. It could save you a lot of pain in the long run. Download speeds from ***** have always been fast.

While on the most part this site is pretty safe to download from, a lot of it's advertisements have links to sites containing viruses and some of the downloadable content from the site itself contains viruses. My friend clicked one of their ads offering WinRAR and it turned out the link was to an infected site which terminated his internet access to several sites such as Google; when he tried to access these sites he would be redirected to a fake Microsoft website telling him to download a spyware removal tool which was actually a virus. Luckily he was able to remove the virus and didn't download the fake spyware removal tool.
