Ist edgesuite.net sicher?

I am going to allow it. 1 infection in over 80,000 visits is not a large percentage to be worried about and that may be the site itself rather than edgesuite, It is not clear that edgesuite actually caused the infection. McAfee didn't find a problem with it and it is affiliated with Akamai which is WOT approved as excellent.

As commented above over last 3 years, site continues to to be a threat. edgesuite.net is registered with TUCOWS in Canada It only appears in email, often unsolicited, in conjunction with a prefix or subdomain. It is used to promote large enterprises such as Dell and Macys It is possibly the work of a rogue unauthorized spammer, because it is unlikely that these companies would be spamming themselves. The ESI service provides for dynamically generating HTML pages at the edge of the Internet, near the end user. The ESI language is an XML-based markup language that provides the tools to assemble the content dynamically on the Akamai network.

It's a CDN. Not a bad site at all according to my search. Apparently a CDN is a site that holds cached copies of webpages so that the CDN can alleviate some of the stress from the main page. In other words if I'm looking at an article and that article in it's entirety is on the sites CDN (like edgesuite) then the CDN may give me a copy from it's servers rather than the main site thus saving the main sites bandwidth for things like new content and secure connections.

In view of direct statements above, a "Most visited" listing by Alexa does not seem to me to justify tagging with "Good site" on WOT. P. S. - - July 27 was the last time Google tested edgesuite. It was not very long ago.
