Ist emdria.org sicher?

EMDRIA is a highly reputable organization that sets the standards for EMDR therapy internationally. It is the place people turn to begin their search for qualified EMDR therapists, consultants and trainers. I have only ever had helpful, positive experiences with their staff and website.

I've been a member of EMDRIA since the late 90's I believe. It is an outstanding professional organization. It upholds high standards in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing psychotherapy, so that the public can gain from this effective and efficient psychotherapy approach while remaining safe. There is currently at least one training corporation that offers a very brief training, does not require that their students be licensed therapists, and offers supervision of EMDR practice by people who are not nearly as highly trained as EMDRIA requires. If there are all of a sudden negative reports made about EMDRIA's site, I believe that it could be made by disgruntled people in some way associated with that corporation, who do not understand EMDRIA's noble purposes. Or, it could be clients who have experienced EMDR with therapists who are not Certified by EMDRIA.
