Ist fanfiction.net sicher?

Fun site to read and review other people's stories. The stories could range from fan made stories based on a show, game, or could just be made up. There are also different ratings, genres, and character filters depending on what you want to read. Over all the site seems like a good place to kill some time if you have nothing better to do.

Great site for a wide range of fanfiction, organised by genre, fandom, etc. Unfortunately, even with a rating system in place, not all authors abide by the guidelines. Reviews may include strongly negative language (and flames), and the reader simply has to be discerning with regards to the content he/she is approaching.

It's a site to read fan fiction but there is no criteria for stories, for example a story that is rated NC-17 or, as my friends across the pond call it, rated R can be read by anyone. The advertisements are somewhat flashy but I guess the site has to find funding somewhere.

This site is a really good one, you can find fanfictions for almost any book/show/anime/movie in existance, and they really do the rating style well, a kid wont be finding inapropriate content in the storys unless they go out looking for it with the filters, in which case its the kids fault IMO, not the websites.

A lot of decent stories. There is generally no problem with adult content because ***** automatically hides "M" rated content. The only way a child can access it is if they deliberately change the ratings options. For advertisements, they allow people to block ads, and even provide an adblocker too.

Some great fan fiction on this website and yes there are some scenes in some of the stories can be considered obscene, but most of those stories are rated M for Mature so you know you will come across some graphic stuff not just sexual but also violent as well and most authors put in the summary if it is going to have lemons (sex scenes) in the story so you know what you are getting yourself into

I'm an avid reader of Fanfiction based on Anime. Usually T-M rated stories. Despite the fact that there are many fics with graphic descriptions of adult content, they have a K-M rating system much like that of the ERSB, They warn you of mature content, and it has a reporting system for stories in the wrong ration division(ex: M rated story in the K rated division). Very few stories have no plot and just sex. I personally enjoy M rated stories because they have more depth and complexity to the plot. That however, is just a matter of personal opinion. I do say this, though, there is always more than what meets the eye.

There is adult content in the site, however if a child is on this sort of site I think their parents would now and tell them how high of a rating they can read. They do very well of grading each one and i think that if a kid reads it it falls on their parents to stop them the site itself gives plenty warning.
