SUMMARY: Good program, definitely worth giving a shot. Works well and the only problem I've ever had was an issue where it seemed to temporarily cause confusion to windows vista's hard drive memory, the computer thought it was taking up the space it was shredding until it finished shredding and the computer was updated. that shouldn't be a problem with most files or on a new PC of course. PS: in response to another user's comment about a restrictive EULA, while I agree with you that it is misleading and it is site error that they do need to fix, it is likely not intended to be unethical. It is probably as a result of people slightly altering it then selling/sharing it as their own without giving credit.

VERY HELPFUL, FREE UTILITY. Utility can shred (overwrite) files, directories, archives, pictures, movies, songs, etc., according to various intensities, such as a single or double overwriting, or to more exacting and thorough levels of overwriting, including the Guttmann method (which is the most thorough way of completely overwriting and destroying stuff to make sure no one could ever find it again [such as the IRS, your boss, your spouse, etc.]). However, there are other ways that the IRS, your boss or your spouse could find out where you have been surfing, what you have downloaded (file name, size, when) and possibly (fi they are skilled enough) even re-create the entire file (from elsewhere in the operating system or hard drie or the server or elsewhere, but this utility does destroy files where they are located within the file system; it does its job. The site does have a couple of links to other software, which are NOT free, in order to try to earn some $$$ to cover the site's costs, which is only fair.
