This could be categorized as spam because it literally floods Google - the whole first result page I got was filled with this crap and almost nothing else. Most results I got were either saved searches which tricked the search engine, or the same (unanswered) questions about what I am asking.

Fixya is actually a site that just tricks google search queries. If you search for something on google the results apparently appear on Fixya. When you click on the link you will find out that the content of the site has nothing to do with the actual search terms. It just contains links to related google searches. This site exploits Google serch system in order to serve ads (SEO spamming). Worst some of the links ask for personal information and contain malware. Avoid

They gussy it up to look like Yahoo answers or Wikianswers, but then charge for you to use the website. They abuse the Google search engine to drive in traffic, but they don't actually provide anything relevant or useful. For example, I wanted to fix a Bx5a studio monitor and they had nothing, but claimed they had something if I shelled out $20. If that's not a scam, then nothing is.

They ask for your full name in your user profile when you sign up, and then your full name is automatically posted for the whole world to see when you do a posting. This is insidious and without your consent. If you change your "Full Name" to a fake name or alias in your profile, they will use your automatically generated "nickname" (which you can't change), which is most or all of your email username. As a result, your email username will also identify exactly who you are for the whole world to see if you use your real name in your email address (as many people do for their email). This is all very insidious, unethical and a breach of privacy. In their privacy policy they state "At FixYa.com, we are committed to protecting online user privacy." This directly contradicts with what my experience has been. It is also very suspect and troubling to me that they offer to provide answers to questions if you give them money. I am rather shocked that this website has such high scores of around 90 in all categories.

I provided a unique e-mail address to this site when I registered, and kept it secret. A few months later, I started getting all kinds of spam at that address. FixYa denies sharing the address with a third party; however, there is no other way this could have occurred.

I opened this site and filled out some information, such as my name and e-mail address. Before completing the form, I decided it wasn't for me, so I opted out. After that I received an e-mail from them requesting that I use their services. The bad part is that now I keep getting a popup "Internet Security Warning" message about every minute, that says "The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that cannot be verified". It is from "Network Solutions Security Authority". That is the website that I opted out of. I can't get rid of the popups, even though I select "NO" to the question "Do you want to continue using this server".
