In my experience, most of the content on here is okay, but be VERY careful with your search keywords (don't put anything that has a high chance of being mistaken for a search for something you don't want to see!) if you do directly search on here and try to find links to what you're actually looking for through other websites (either somewhat moderated sites like Reddit that users frequently share links to this website on or a search engine with filtering turned on). As a result, I wouldn't recommend letting your kids browse on here.

Imgur is a very good, reliable, and secure photo sharing + hosting website. You can place any picture you'd like on here, regardless of what it might be. There is no administration / moderation patrolling the site to ensure that nothing "bad" is posted. Any type of photo, regardless of gruesomeness, goriness, expletive language, etc, can be posted, and put on the internet for all eyes to see. As it is an unmoderated website, it is not meant for children.

A smallish internet community, spawned from reddit, that focuses on sharing images and up- or down-voting them, as well as posting comments. Some inappropriate material may be posted, but it is usually hidden behind an NSFW tag and won't be stumbled upon accidentally.
