This is a safe website, but it has a horrible anti-virus program that hogs your computer's CPU. On the other hand, John McAfee, the creator, also hated this software, which I think is hilarious.

McAfee Anti-virus is pretty poor compared to nearly everything else. Also known to come with a lot of bloatware which can slow your system down at times. Why use it when there is much more effective solutions out there.

I have used McAfee products for 20+ years. I have never had problems with spam from having an account with them. Products work well enough but I have had some issues with support. I don't like that they try to include their software with other downloads or have it come pre-installed on new systems. Overall I plan to continue using their software.

Over 2014 and into 2015 (Jan) I have tried several security software packages to protect my computers and phones. During the course I have picked up 5 viruses, trojan horses and other malware. Much to my surprise one well known security company even had malware on it's own site and the others though they alerted me to a trojan horse could not remove it. McAfee is the only company that I have found advanced enough to do it all. WARNING!!! Sites saying they will remove or fix your infected computer For FREE are where I picked up 4 of the infections! Beware of Fix for Free sites or downloads.

Behaviour appears similar to most rogue anti-virus software: installs itself without confirmation alongside a wide variety of completely unrelated software, and then advertises a paid version of itself which supposedly unlocks additional features. While it may be easy to remove, it shouldn't have been installed in the first place!
