No professional. A lot of perves use the site to harass other models. The site is a joke and you never get a refund after you have canceled your services. Never booked any legitimate jobs from there. The site is as bad or worse than craigslist. The moderators are too strict.

I worked with a couple of photographers who had profiles on the site so I thought I'd try creating a model profile of my own. There were a number of profiles similar to the one I was trying to create, guys similar to myself (I'm not going to be appearing in GQ any time soon ;) so I didn't think there would be a problem. Firstly they thought I wanted to do porn as I said I was willing to pose naked (though the pics I uploaded were far less raunchy than others already on the site) then they wanted me to pay and would not explain why I did not (in their words) "fit one of the existing categories' for a free profile.

MM is a networking site for models/photographers who are doing their own management. There are a lot of 'creeps with cameras', but also a lot of serious aspiring photographers and models. If you present yourself professionally and are firm on safety policy (like bringing a professionally-mannered escort to your first shoot with a photographer), you can avoid scenarios like Susan mentioned. As long as you do your research and take care selected you assignments (no 'trade-for' projects) you can find good work.

Compared to One Model Place I have not heard the best of things from Model Mayhem. ie models beware. There are stalkers on this site. There was a lawsuit from the original founder against Internet Brands (google it) Like any site though. Make sure when you go in for something that your not alone. Bring a friend. And maybe something with a bit of voltage. And from the comments listed here, looks like this is the general PR for that site.

They allow anyone who has a camera on there to promote themselves as a 'photographer'. I went to a photoshoot by a "photographer" who had nice images posted to the site, but later found out they weren't his photos at all. When i got to his "studio" (his apartment) had crappy cameras, and all he wanted to do was touch me. it was sick and sad.
