Ist ratemyprofessors.com sicher?

This former bookmark is getting dropped. Too many reviews are for the wrong reasons and when actually testing it out apparently it couldn't do a single search at all!The only thing I have blocked on the site is spying old Facebook. If that is required forget it. Delisted.

After trying to leave a truthful unfavorable post about a Lisa Sharpiro Professor (Mesa College, CA), I was unable to do so. As this is a condescending Instructor, when I spoke to her in regards to her telling two students one being myself how it was inappropriate for her to tell up across the class room, "YOU and YOU go to DSPS". I told her how it would have been more appropriate for her to have come up to both of us in a low tone and tell us, but not by announcing it across the class room so ass all the other students would hear! She began to reply in a very condescending tone and told me in so many words that it is her class room she can do as she pleases! This was extremely upsetting and inconsiderate of her! The other student had also brought to my attention the inappropriate way which she told us to go to DSPS. I agreed with her, as it upset her a considerable amount! I felt bad for her! I do find that we are not allowed to put negative posts on this site which the reasons why we rate them is so others will know what type of Instructor it is! I did put my negative post in a nice way, even though I did not mention how she discriminated against me after that and she never treated me the same. I did bring it up to the staff and her boss. I saw the Vice President of the school and brought it to her attention and she did nothing. Later until this instructor dropped me after being absent one day for attending a close friend's funeral I knew for years who was also my neighbor! I showed that that was proof of her discriminating against me for bring the issue up to her attention as we are suppose to prior to bringing it up to anyone else at this school. I found it strange, where as this instructor allowed my two other class mates and group members to have a large amount of absences, as they both alternated days of absence for weeks at a time and they were not dropped, but after I was absent one day I was dropped. I tried to explain this to other students in my first post which was not posted, the second post I put I would not recommend and that she is unfair. I still have not found that post to be posted as well! I find that this sort of stuff is exactly what other students need to know, for if I knew that she was an unfair instructor as I found out I would not have taken her class! This tells me that you can not trust Rate Your Professor.com. I did send Rate my Professor a email in regards to this and I did not receive a comment form them! I did get transferred into another Business 100 class and I did get an "A" in that class, which if I would have stayed in Lisa S. class I highly doubt that my grade would have actually be fair! Maybe someone will actually make a website to rate Professors and Colleges which will allow us to post truths such as what I have have had to go through! By the way I was told originally by staff that I would not be allowed to switch classes/ instructors almost half way into the semester, and they did do that after the original instructor did as she did by dropping me after the one day of being absent from the class! I should be allowed to put my opinion of my instructors, if I feel they are fair or unfair, etc. The staff did agree that she should not have done what she did in both cases, about announcing to us about DSPS in front of the class and her dropping me discriminately! I now realize after this experience that I cannot believe everything which is on ratemyprofessor.com! I did rate this site but for some reason it is not showing up that I rated it! I did not rate it favorably!

You can look up a professor from practically any school to get a general consensus about him/her. While there is no way to asses how truthful some of the comments may be, based on my own college experiences, the professor ratings related to my college were reasonably accurate based on the instructors I had. A useful tool for course planning!
