Ist sciencedirect.com sicher?

One of the best places to read newly published science papers and articles. There's so much information that it's really hard to keep up with at times, so I pretty much only read the popular section of the website or something that I see being recommened on the internet

This site contains links to alleged science articles, many of which are unvetted for quality or veracity and many of which promote views or opinions rather than legitimate research. Owned by predatory publisher Elsevier. You can read a few opinions and low-quality article for free, but the good stuff will cost a couple of arms and legs; and these folks didn't do the work and aren't the authors, they're just grazing at the public trough. Links for an article are "redirecting to linkinghub.elsevier..." then "redirecting to ***** ..." then "redirecting to loginptr.elsevierhealth.com..." then "redirecting to maturitas.org..." again, which said there is a free on-line full-text pdf version. That link redirected back to elsevier, which redirected back to maturitas--a sign-in or register page with a link to the next page, which asks for e-mail address, then a Continue button to the next page, which says, "We're sorry, but the URL you have requested is not valid. Please visit the journal online at: Institutional Access Visit SciVerse ScienceDirect (http://www.sciencedirect.com/) to see if you have access via your institution." with all sites setting and modifying cookies. Never did get to the article.
