Only use the rate comparison on this site, never buy directly from them. Search on Google find the insurance company that they gave you the best rates for and buy directly from that company. The General can find better rates for you but they are a middle-man company and will charge you additional rates if you buy from them. You can get much better prices from the direct insurance company than using a middle-man service.

Don't know why this site is so low in the ratings. Looks like people are abusing the WOT rating system. It's a good, safe site that helps people get quotes for car insurance. It's a real website, no viruses, and safe for children (the ones that want to look at auto insurance rates anyway).

Marketing themselves as "The General" Permanent General Companies offers car insurance in the United States, seeminly with a focus on drivers that have difficulty finding insurance elsewhere. I'm not sure why this site has a bad rating as there are no explanations for it, the company does have A+ accreditation from the Better Business Bureau ***** By all means if anyone has reason to see they have a bad rating, leave a message on my board and I will investigate.
