Ist tigerdirect.com sicher?

Before purchasing, I asked about the stock availability for the product I wanted just in case, and they said it was in stock. After purchasing, however, I got an e-mail that indicates the item is on backorder and is no longer available. DON'T TRUST the stock availability on the website!

The site itself is fine, the vendor is decent. I've heard some bad stories, but if you build enough computers or buy enough electronics, you soon discover that most of the reputable vendors have the same issues, the same DOA parts, the same mix of good and awful customer service. Can't red flag them for stuff the entire industry does and has problems with.

Tiger Direct has become just another rip-off vendor. I purchased a laptop and no OS disc was included after I complained they sent me a XP disc It came with Windows 7 premium installed real nice, after I made a complaint to the BBB they are fighting tooth and nail to avoid any resolution. I complained to Microsoft and HP. HP said it is out of warranty and they would do nothing to help me (Its a month old). I hate HP as there service is junk as well. Just like Dell. Next time I will try an Acer as I have had nothing but trouble with Dell and HP. Good luck out there its getting pretty ugly for the consumer. As for the BBB their batting zeros with my last three complaints may be someone should report them to themselves.

I used to order quite a bit from TigerDirect years ago but after an awful customer service experience years ago I have bought nothing from them since. I had a question about an order where the items I received did not match the picture in the products description. Repeated emails and even a physical letter to the company went completely unanswered.

They sold me products under false pretenses. They sold me an antivirus program that had 4 parts. I was only able to use one of the 4 parts, so I couldn't get any useful information from the scans. They said it also came with a special off-site backup program: that was a big selling point. When I signed up for that part, I found out it was free! Then they promised me an invoice in my email. It never came. I had bought a camera with a ten dollar rebate. I didn't get my invoice until after 30 days and just found out that I had to turn in a rebate form, which I still haven't seen within those 30 days. I was routed all over the place, given all kinds of phone numbers. All I got was answering machines, but never a call back. As for their products, I have spent over a year trying to get a computer that someone bought from them to work right. It's hopeless. It does little more than let me send and receive emails and visit websites. The cursor jumps all over the page: paragraphs are routinely deleted, or it goes into typover mode. It's been like this since I got it. To withhold the invoices and rebate form until after my time was up was, in my opinion sleazy. I won't do business with them again. This was a large order. They won't even issue a ten dollar store credit.
