This website is fake. The explorer Vasco de Gama did not captain any ships from Star Trek. Though, this website is amusing.

This website is purposely misleading, with the intention of making children question what they read on the web. Personally, it failed for me, as I just skimmed the articles, missing the obvious false information (like that one explorer used a high-tech ship designed by IBM to avoid the coast of Africa, grew up in a German city twenty miles south of Moscow, and had an email conversation with somebody in 1499). I'm not sure how good this website is at its intended purpose, but I'm ranking it as "good", because it: - Has no viruses or anything negative, other than untrue information. And the information, while being outrageous, is not offensive to anybody. Furthermore, the information is purposely false for a good reason. - Is intended to, and theoretically should be able to, teach children a real lesson. Most children who actually read one of the articles on this website realize fairly quickly that something is wrong. It didn't necessarily work for me, but that doesn't make it a bad site - they're trying to teach children. In conclusion, this website is safe, and, while not factual, is not trying to trick anybody either. It is trying to teach children an important, real life lesson that they will otherwise have to learn the hard way.

This site is A BIG LIE. But it is a good way to teach kids to trust websites.

Plenty of false information here. It goes to say you shouldn't trust everything you read.

This site is INTENTIONALLY misleading and was built by educators to be used as a training device to convince students NOT to believe everything they find on the internet. If you read the "About This Site" you'll see that they set it up so that kids would discover wild inaccuracies and start to question what they read. This site is not damaging or even un-trustworty, just instructive. I hope the WOT Poor rating can be reversed.

An absolutely wonderful hoax site, designed to teach students that just because a website looks good, that does not mean its information is good. So, terrible quality information, excellent quality with regard to its intent. Use it, just not for your report on explorers.
