Judging by the previous reviews, I have a feeling this website is not what it used to be... it's quite a useful website now

I have used this site for year to Translate from Spanish to English and English to Spanish with no problems. I think that it is a good site.

I have used this site for years to simply translate phrases from other languages into English.

its Yahoo's translator, no malware of viruses.

It translates phrases from one language to the other. If there is unsuitable language in the source language, it is likely that the translation could have unsultable language.

Yahoo's Babelfish has been purchased by the Evil Empire and is now Bing Translator.

The REAL babelfish that used to be owned by Yahoo was Aquired by Microsoft and on On May 31, 2012 users were redirected to Bing translator@ ***** This site is a Fake I have no experience with this site (babelfish.com) as to whether it distributes malware or not , but it is NOT the real BabelFish (Yahoo) ) translation site . THANK YOU THANK YOU PEOPLE HERE AND WOT!! Im am yelling praise. I just went here by accident and the wonderful WOT blocked me. So I say what the heck --everyone knows Babelfish. Then I read all your comments and saw what a fool I was. I am pretty computer literate and was embarrassed. Thanks again to everyone who posted here. You really helped out a fellow human who you do not even know--you guys are wonderful. On the bright side I too am really nice so at least you did not help out some villian--LOL. I think WOT is mandatory on a computer--if you never go to a bad site you would'nt need anti-virus and anti-spyware. Hmmmm, that makes me think--maybe Mr. Norton and Mr. McAffee are the ones putting out viruses so we have to buy those kinda products. Just kidding--we all know it's Bill Gates!!

This site is total rubbish and dangerous. I tried to download it and my anti virus software detected a virus within the download. So please read this and do not download this site.

Just by looking at the site, I can guarantee you it's either: a) Spyware b) Adware c) Malware d) (a) virus Also, this is not Yahoo's "BabelFish" translation service (which can be found at http://babelfish.yahoo.com), it's something like a typosquatting website (a website that is aimed to distribute harmful things, and it is placed in somewhere that could be like ***** instead of ***** for instance, or it could be directly entering a sub-domain* (.com) instead of a full address, which right now is the case) *For people who don't know (but you probably do), a sub-domain is often what people get from free hosting, like website.webs.com. Or it could just be a page for a website used by say, Google.com, and the sub-domain is translate (.google.com). This site is NOT safe. I recommend looking at Fumega's comment, as it even TESTIFIES that this software is spyware/adware and it is full of crap. It's hard to remove, even if you have all of the protection programs needed. That's why you have WOT, so you're stopped BEFORE you download software. As Fumega mentioned, you can find more information at *****

not babelfish, that;s babelfish.yahoo!

This site is a SCAM. More details can be found here --> ***** They take advantage of a well know translator engine name (Babelfish), in order to trick the users on installing their software, which doesn't even work, and will install spyware/adware/browser hijacking malware which is very difficult to remove, even with the right anti-spyware tools. It will install the "Babelfish" bar in Firefox and in Internet Explorer, which is supposedly a translator bar, but it doesn't even translate anything. It will redirect you to askjohny randomly (for instance, when your browser fails to resolve an URL, or an website fails to respond). It will also redirect you randomly to their search engine, and other websites.
