As a BetterMail developer I strongly disagree with hpHosts' comment: BetterMail is an opt-in email marketing product with a very good reputation. We closely monitor each of our accounts and only allow sending of legit emails. BetterMail doesn't send spam just like PayPal doesn't send phishing emails.

As logicman pointed out like any other service provider BetterMail can occasionally be used by someone who does not have the best intentions. However, a true rating of the site would be based on whether abusive/illegal practices are tolerated by BetterMail staff or they are immediately shut down. As an employee of BetterMail I know that it is the latter!

I am not sure why this site is getting a bad rating! Apparently, bettermail.ca is used by George Brown College (Toronto Ontario Canada) for its e-mail correspondence (I just received an e-mail from George Brown college with a bad rating). As George Brown College is a highly respected community college, I am to assume that bettermail.ca must be a trustworthy site, although I could be wrong. In my experience and as far as I can tell, this is a good site!

bettermail.ca is a seller of marketing tools. Like any tool, bettermail may be abused. If you are getting viruses or spam from a bettermail user, you should blame the user of the tool, not its creator. You can report abuse directly to bettermail. From bettermail's own T & Cs page: "If you have received an e-mail that you did not request, or suspect you have been spammed by someone using BetterMail, please notify us immediately at mailto:abuse@bettermail.ca. Please include a copy of the e-mail you received. For more information visit the Coalition Against Unsolicited Email: *****
