Is chatango.com Safe?

Chatango advertises itself as "family friendly", yet that can't be further from than the truth. I've met many different folk (including minors) and virtually all of them have dealt with sexual harassment. People either send explicit messages out of nowhere, or just give a "warning shot" by putting porn on their profile. This ties into what another user here has said: the site lacks moderation. I mean, you can report people, but that doesn't do anything. Only once during a blue moon, does someone get punished. Oh, and some more Chatango justice: many people get banned or restricted for no reason. All in all, Chatango is a useful site and I've had a lot of fun on there, but I'd never suggest it to anyone. Chatango is a RP/Cyber site, you will get somebody that will want to rp with you. i never ever run into somebody that does not do rp.. however i have run into guys who send me pics of dicks asking me if i like.. if you a child under 17, watch out. and block them don't ever talk talk to people that have Real Life Pics

alright, i am a long term chatango user. This site is UNSAFE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN of course, but there are good users, there is fun stuff like roleplaying, otaku's (anime nerds) and people who you can really understand and make friends with! This site is not as bad as people say. you have to actuially sign up. Its not a gif, thats an example. The real chat happens when you sign up. no real email required, no comfermation, just sign up, make a profile, and enjoy! simple! This site has a lot more to offer than weeaboo sluts and such, its a good site! i know it is! i have been on sence 2008! the comment "Basic way to scam and fool people. Unfortunitly its not even a real chatbox. Its a .gif, it makes you think theres other people there, but there isn't. Block this site people, its nothing but a fake. To me this little illusion trick has passed me by, but failed to persuade me. " is complete bullcrap and i know it! its not a scam! the site is safe for children, but by all means the users put things on profiles that arnt. the only things unsafe are user posted! The site has a lot to offer besides the scum of the internet. it has NO adult content built into the site! that is ALL the users. Blame them not the site! Bleh, im rambeling. POINTS ARE, GOOD SITE, NO PORN, NO BAD CONTENT, THE USERS ARE THE ONLY THING TO LOOK OUT FOR.

While the site is amazing to make chat rooms and talking with people, it is very unsafe for children and unless you uncheck "show in user directory" on the update profile page, I guarantee they will be spammed by horny internet users to engage in cybering.
