Customer service was very helpful in changing my acct to suit my needs. After completing introductory offer obligations, I contacted them about how to remain a member without having to respond to the monthly "Directors Offer." Because if I failed to decline the offer, it would automatically ship. They changed my acct so that I was no longer required to respond, but I still get the member discounts. -- Since I don't like web sites to have my credit card info, I did not update it when the card expired. I added them as a "payee" to my online banking. I had all the mailing info I need but the bank required a phone number answered by a human. My biggest complaint is that this is a hard # to track down, but I did get it. I had the bank mail them a pymt which Columbia House kept as a credit to my acct (as noted on the memo). Now I order & it's paid from my credited over pymt that the bank has previously sent. That way, if I keep a credit of $100, that's the most amount I'm liable to lose if acct is hacked. That's better than losing my whole credit card line if that info was hacked. -- They always work good with me & to my satisfaction IF I contact them for my needs. That's the downside is in having to contact them for changes that should be in place already, IMO. But they do respond well when asked, in my experience.

Curiously, I started receiving spam emails shortly after joining, although I opted out of non-account related emails and 3rd party emails. Could be a coincidence, but...

These are companies that are engaged in trade of personal information in order for loyalty programs to impose charges.. This happens at the end of "Checkout" when it prompts you from email and then charges your credit card.. I am giving them all poor vendor and privacy scores.. Gave my email address to spammers right after I cancelled my service. I know it was them, because they are the only company that I used the address "columbiahouse@[mydomainname].com" for. Getting them to cancel service after you've met the obligation took 3 months.
