Government bureaucrats are imposing what’s known as Common Core on school districts across the country. Common Core is a top-down, one-size-fits-all education standard that originated in the 2009 “stimulus” bill. Common Core dumbs down curriculums for all students, regardless of their abilities. It seems like that’s all government knows how to do. Fight back against Common Core. Common Core is a standardized monstrosity that replaces parental control with government control. We need choice in schools, not more mediocre standards. Every person in America has a vital interest in stopping Common Core, a top-down, one-size-fits-all government takeover of our education system. Instead of teaching critical thinking and problem solving, Common Core stresses the lowest common denominator, punishes achievement, and forces all students to conform to government standards. Our future depends on the next generation being able to solve the serious problems we face, and substandard government-run education will only make things worse.
