Is creditreport.com Safe?

If you submit a credit card number for a "free trial", AND call to cancel BEFORE the trial is up....your credit card WILL still charged for full membership. Completly discourteous customer service reps say that if I had called, it would have bene cancelled. Refused to refund money. Lied to me, and refused to cancel membership. Refused to let me speak to a manager. TOTALLY UNETHICAL!!!

Everyone here is ridiculous. creditreport.com is part of ***** and ***** .. It's partnered with the largest credit bureau - goto ***** and try to run your credit report and see what you get. There is nothing fraudulent with this site. if you sign up for a service that auto-renews after a trial period and you fail to cancel - then it's your fault. This is a common practice that you will run into hundreds of times over your lifetime. There's nothing fraudulent about doing that, just make sure you cancel before the trial period is over. The site is fully safe/secure with your info and fully reliable. That being said it may not be the best bang for your buck, as far as credit monitoring, but thats the benifit of America, the consumer gets to choose where to waste their money :-). Just figured i'd give my opinoin since for some odd reason theres an insane amount of negative feedback, for "experian"...

It isn't free, you must sign up for the protection or whatever. Read the fine print. If you want a REALLY free credit report go to annualcreditreport.com. You can get 1 every 4 months from 1 of the 3 bureaus, transunion, experian, or equifax. To get a credit number go to creditkarma.com. Again it's free; it isn't your fico score but it's similar to the almost free credit scores from others. The main thing is the numbers range is about the same. Some are up to 950, others to 850. The main thing is where you place from poor to excellent. Also karma has things like to improve your score or what impact something has to do with your score. VERY worthwhile to explore when you have some time.

this site is being used in conjunction with craigslist advertisements that offer low rent housing. they claim to be using a "soft credit report" in order to determine if you have been evicted in the past 5 years. funny thing is this site is what you get re-directed to after "copy and pasting" the address they give you in the email. i myself counted 7 re-directs when i entered the address. if you're browsing craigslist and you see any links to an external "Credit Verification" site, i suggest that you immediately flag the post, and forward the email you received from them to Craigslist. the address i received is *****

Check the domain to find out where it is coming from. If it is not from ATT, SBC, or Experian. Then it is a phishing scam. Alot of the low ratings come from a phishing scam registered with Moniker Online Service with a phishing domain out of Bucharest, Romania. There email spam scams looks legitimate. However, it is copy and paste from the real website. If you click and fill out the form it goes to credit card thieves and not to creditreport.com. ALWAYS CHECK HEADERS AND DOMAIN (who it is sent from). Consumers beware. Experian and ***** is a legitmate organization. However, there are people out there who disguised themselves as these companies to scam you out of your hard earned money.
