I ordered a Canon 60D body and received a confirmation email. Then I didn't hear anything for about two weeks (10 business days). And what happened next was very similar to other stores' practices that I've been warned about. ***** then called me and they tried to up-sale me on other stuff which was overpriced. They tried to tell me that there is this other body... ...anyway, I wanted the 60D which is why I ordered it in the first place. Then they mentioned that it's a 'gray marked' body which is a direct import. After some research (before hand) I found that gray marked items are truly an option, usually cheaper and I've even read that Canon may even honor the guarantee for those. They tried to up-sale me on insurance (overpriced!). Since I didn't even want that, they confirmed that I only wanted the gray marked version without guarantee and that it will be $770. The price that I was presented with on the website was $660, so I asked why it's $770. The answer was that they 'insure' all of their camera bodies for delivery. At that point I just cancelled the order after anxiously waiting for two weeks because it's much more expensive than at reputable stores. This taught me to not trust online stores in the first place and to also not necessarily trust the WOT or ***** website's rating since they all rated the store highly. It might be that those stores have a lot of manpower (or scripts) to rate themselves highly. You might see this comment on other rating websites since I'm planning on pasting this to as many places as I can to stop their practices. Shady!
