Is digitalextremes.com Safe?

New content released recently for their main product recently (the game, Warframe). They have been locking user accounts by assessing an arbitrary negative balance of their proprietary fake virtual currency and charging ransom amounts at their highest possible price, to purchase said proprietary fake currency in order to regain access to an account. Policy for assessment of ransom amount is made by circumstantial determination where if their fake currency was purchased by someone fraudulently or suffers a charge-back, anyone who trades with that person is assessed a negative balance. While company freely admits the people they are charging aren't the ones who committed the actual fraud, merely people who traded with them in-game, they are implicated automatically and are forced to pay to continue playing the game. Since the currency is valueless other than in their game, the practice of locking accounts without clear reasoning for doing so, and forcing players to pay without appeal or understanding for why, is nefarious at best. This practice amounts to extortion, and borderline racketeering. Purchasing anything from them or using any of their services leaves any consumer susceptible to frivolous accusations on Digital Extreme's part, where they will lock your account and force additional payments to continue using their service. Even if you pay the amount, they are liable to assess even more at their explicit whim.
