Is doximity.com Safe?

I signed up early on. Without my knowledge or explicit approval, they send e mails to other potential subscribers telling them I like the site and suggest they sign up. Many colleagues have come up to me wondering if I have financial ties to the site. This became embarassing. I called them a year or two ago and told them to remove me from the site. Nothing has happened. Another colleague just approached me with the same comments. Can you get them to remove me from the site and stop misleading people this way.

They are very helpful for keeping me in touch with other physicians. I have received no spam or other unsolicited email from them. Part of their service allows physicians to fax each other documents. Contrary to what another commentator said, this is not illegal nor inappropriate.
