This (is) or (was) a good program, it takes and delete anything you pick. BUT, then you stand at risk for also installing unwanted software from somoto ltd, that are very questionable. If you just click away to install this software you can by accident install this potentially unwanted programs from somoto that will give you unwanted advertise and offers on you web browser. Malewarebytes did pick up .exe and .dll files from Somoto software that was been laid into folders on my computer, even if I clicked decline to this offers when installing Unlocker. So what is going on here. There is no need to lay fractions of files I did not agree at all to have on my computer. bitool.dll and setup.exe was all files that came from unlocker that is originally owned by Somoto that I declined when installed Unlocker software, but still this files where on my computer after installing Unlocker. There is no need at all force this files to land inside my computer when I say no to Somotos offers when installing Unlocker. This used to be good software. Now it's a mishmash of drive by scumbag malware installs. Even if you rejecting the offers, the files will be on your computer. Malewarebytes found them one by one on a very new clean re installed fresh windows 10.

I downloaded Unlocker 1.9.2 only to have it auto removed by Firefox due to it being infected with malware. If you want to delete a file without the risk of infection, you can also go to task manager and end "explorer.exe" then go to file>run process and start it back up under "C:\windows", then the file will be deletable without the need for this program or any like it. If you still want or need to use this still then I would recommend being very cautious, it would be a good idea to run it in sandboxie first so as to know what its doing to your system.

As many other commenters said this one should be looked at closely. The ability to unlock things potentially is a very valuable tool. If misused it can also be very risky. A big problem is the potentially unwanted programs. If they really need to make money that way I would suggest picking something other than Delta Toolbar. I would ding them harder but the victims of such things bear responsibility. If people refuse to do custom installs and can't be bothered to read then that is on them. **EDIT** I am dropping it down another notch. It has ads for the very dubious registry cleaners. This potentially is a handy program- but there are some issues to consider.

The key program offered by this site is Windows Unlocker, which is an amazing, safe program that overrides system restrictions and forces permanent removal of any program. This can be very dangerous when deleting protected system files or when in the hands of someone who does not know how to use it, but it can be extremely useful in completely removing pesky viruses, adware, spyware, malware and other potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) that would normally prevent deletion. Ironically enough, some of the advertised software that supports this site are unsafe rogue software which may harm your computer, so when using this site, only download the Unlocker itself. Skip any additional program offers that may be given during installation as well. These are only there to help fund the program, since few people donate and it is ultimately freeware. Also note that Google Chrome marks the download as "malicious" for some reason. This is not true. The program is completely safe. In order to download the program on Chrome, follow the "Turn off phishing and malware detection" steps in the the Google Support article: ***** Be sure to recheck it after you're finished!

The editor of Unlockera found an ingenious way to force us to install a toolbar named Delta, putting it directly (and hiding) in the settings of the installer Unlocker. Unlike other software ask us very visible if you want a malware or not. /!\ IMPORTANT TIP /!\: LOOK CAREFULLY THE DEFAULT SETTINGS INSTALLERS OF SOFTWARE, IF YOU SEE SOMETHING SUSPICIOUS, CHECK ON "CUSTOM" AND UNCHECK THE MALWARE(S) IF THERE FOUND!!!!!!

Spreads Adware and Malware. Scum

This used to be good software. Now it's a mishmash of drive by scumbag malware installs. I downloaded the software and very carefully navigated through all of the opt-outs in the installer (even though they're set up as a double opt-out). Once I did that and it installed, it threw everything I opted out of and declined on my system anyway. I'd seriously debate the legality of this.

Unwanted application ***** Submit the installer to ***** if u are not confident with this alone. So sad after many donations I had given.

Unlocker is very good software but be aware on installation process uncheck or disagree on TOOLBAR included it change your default search engine.

Installs adware, the program does work fine though. It changed my firefox homepage and new tab, annoying...
4
Usefull application but it's set-up installed new toolbar in my web browser without my permission. What's more, during installation I clearly noticed that I do not want to replace my default searching engine.

Ohne Unlocker wäre ich immer wieder aufgeschmissen, wenn sich irgendetwas partout nicht löschen lassen will.
