eMusic is a mp3 download site, which focusses on independent record labels. It's not a la carte, you pay a monthly subscription. This is a recurring payment and will automatically recur every month until you cancel. There is also an option to put your account on hold for a few months too. I've been a happy customer at eMusic for over ten years now. And I plan on being a customer for (at least) another ten! So many great tunes, so many great artists! A helpful reminder: if you sign up for anything, anywhere, read, and understand the T&Cs, *before* sharing your credit card details, ya dummies. Free trials turn into paid membership if you don't cancel. Pop a reminder in the calendar.

I have never actually used their services but I just got done reading their incredibly long policies. I suggest that EVERYBODY read every single policy and agree to nothing that you don't understand. I was prepared to give it maybe light green- but after reading complaint after complaint from actual users below I am delisting the site and changing my rating. One or two complaints are a fluke. When all I see below me is red enough is enough. Delisted.

This site is ok - be smart and read before you buy, but that goes with anything. The price is great, cheaper than iTunes.

I admit that they are money hungry people but they have some good stuff that your music player may need :)

I like this site. The prices are really good and I have never had any problems.

I have been a costumer for 5 years and am very satisfied. When I have problems, the customer service has always been fast and helpful. I use it mostly for audiobooks for which I get great deals

I think this site is fairly well categorized with the phrase "buyer beware!"

I wish I'd have updated my new computer with web of trust before going to the site. I went over .20 getting the free music they were claiming and then comes the page that tells me I'm being billed 35.99!!! It's too late for me but I hope that anyone reading this thinks twice before using any service from this company. They didn't even give me a chance to verify what I was being charged for.

Their rollover policy is never disclosed, only squirreled away in the terms of use (and there is no availability of previous ToS) which is dishonest at best. The company is based in New York, where it is the law to clearly post any refund policy that does not extend beyond 20 days (including any no refund policy.) eMusic fails to do so, and even in the ToS, the refund policy is unclear and not specifically listed. Liars and crooks! Cancel your account! Don't give them your credit card!

I used emusic.com for a long time and never had a problem with it. I've used several "free" downloading sites and ALL of them have given my computer some sort of virus or spyware. The ONLY reason I did not keep emusic is simply because I AM BROKE

I'm SO glad I checked WOT including comments before going to this site. How does this have a green rating when almost all the comments are about this site being blatantly terrible?

emusic.com is a phishing / scam site

Advertized 7day trial, confirmed Paypal account yesterday. Today I just noticed two separate $1 charges to my Paypal account, and cancelled my subscription. I read all the fine print and did not notice any mention of any $1 charge for a "FREE 7 Day Trial". This should not be legal.

If you read the comments you can come to a conclusion this site was good and decent till one point in which he got sold to some one who practice scams and frauds or the owner decided that its better to scam ppl then to earn honest way. I think its the first one. P.S. don't even bother with this site you will do your self a favor.

When I bought a device to play my iPod over my car radio, I received a $10 emusic card. Of course, I'm not gonna pass up an opportunity like that. So I signed up. Nothing surprising. I used Paypal to sign up, but--hey! My mail notifier went off and I had apparently paid eMusic $1. What the heck, guys? You said this was a FREE trial membership! I planned to cancel as soon as I'd spent my $10. I don't care if it was just $1--I hate dealing with dishonest merchants. Another thing: since my Internet is crap, the download of the download manager failed halfway through and I couldn't resume it. So I decided to just download my songs individually. I was gonna be done with the site soon anyway. But then one of the songs didn't download. I clicked the button, the site updated, and they took my money. But I didn't get my song. The download didn't even start. The rest of the songs in the album I'd selected downloaded just fine, but I wasn't even allowed to re-download the failed song. More dishonesty for the count. I honestly feel betrayed by this site. If you've had good experiences with it, hey, I assume you're not a young artist struggling to get a few commissions--and that you actually have the funds to support eMusic's dishonest extortion. I'm not a huge fan of the iTunes store because of its restrictions on where you can put your music (don't have an iPod? Too bad!), but I prefer it over this site. At least Apple doesn't take money you didn't intend to pay them.

Emusic is an amazing site. There site is very user friendly and has great deals on music. My favorite things about Emusic is the huge collection of free music downloads. I also like how they offer audio books at a good price as well.
