While FAIR has a great reputation and is generally very thorough in their reporting, virtually every story regarding science or technology shows fundamental misunderstandings of the subject. They discredit studies for not evaluating data and mechanisms that are clearly outside their scope, uncritically equate poorly-designed and discredited studies with the well-designed ones that pass peer review, and occasionally present studies as saying what the media claims the say rather than actually researching what the study's data actually shows. As much as I want to agree with FAIR, the false equivalencies and scientific illiteracy makes me question how much of my political perspective I have based on their reporting.
