Bellingham Police and Whatcom County Sheriff's Office caution citizens against use of on-line fingerprint scheduling business Posted: October 17, 2014 12:32:03 PM PDT Bellingham (WA) The Bellingham Police Department and Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office are cautioning citizens against using “***** ” to schedule fingerprinting services with our agencies. This on-line fingerprinting service is falsely representing themselves as a source to schedule fingerprinting services with our agencies. Citizens are arriving at our offices with paperwork from this company indicating that an appointment has been set up. The Bellingham Police do not set up appointments for fingerprinting, we are first-come first-served. The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office uses only their staff to set up appointments. ***** is also collecting fees for their scheduling services. BPD and WCSO are not contracting with this business and any money given to the company will not be applied to the services that we provide. While we are looking into Fieldprint.com ’s business practices we want our citizens to beware of the current situation. Most local police departments provide some form of fingerprinting service. Please call the police agency for your jurisdiction to verify how they provide such services before providing personal information and money to businesses saying they represent us.
