A site that allows you to view a wide variety of files online. There are also lots of facts about all kinds of file formats. Filext has been around for over 20 years and is something like the mother of all file information sites.

Do not always believe stuff here.

Seems to be a good site, though the information seems to be out of date.

Always asking to check out my computer - suspect straight away. Not worth risking

They were once a good site, But were purchased by a maleware distributor. Now it is just a platform to try and push maleware on unsuspecting users. This green rating likely comes from back when they were safe. It should be changed to reflect that that is no longer the case.

Useful, but it is quite hard to find what you want, it's cluttered with ads.

Information on files is sometimes incorrect.

tries to trick users for making some system check - seems no longer doing a job in providing file format explanations.

Just advertising a "free scan"

Pushes the neophyte into getting their utilities. Their fix is not the only one out there. At one time was a decent site, but not now. (Sort by Date to see the chronological change.)
