Is fonts.net Safe?

Poor Customer Experience as when allowing scripts from this site, my browser hung and I got a (rare!) notification from it about a non-responsive script. Regardless of how this script may interact with other sites (e.g. if I blocked another site but allowed this one, it could cause the hang), this is poor design and web designers shouldn't use such sites, and up their game to make things more reliable, redundant and resilient. The K.I.S.S. principle applies.

The domain www.fonts.net belongs to Monotype GMBH, which designs, digitizes and provides fonts/typefaces libraries. "Monotype is a leading global provider of typefaces, technology and expertise, enabling optimal user experiences and brand integrity." - (http://www.monotype.com/about) Because the service is used by many major domains, they could and probably are tracking traffic of every domain utilizing their product or service, and sell their findings to third parties, which poses a thread towards your privacy.
