This business supposedly dedicated to user privacy pulled the old bait and switch on users by making a privacy-invasive, massive change to how it operates without either informing the user or giving the user an opportunity to decline the transformation. Specifically the extension for Firefox was re-engineered from a state that allowed users to set options and otherwise control and observe the application locally to one where they are compelled to create an online account with the extension corporation and in the process granting the extension corporation various licenses over personal data that is required to get the account which is required to continue making sensible use of the application.They literally went from a user-centered application to a corporation-centered application in a single unannounced update. They certainly claim to have consulted lots of users, but even if that is true, it does not justify imposing the changes without notice on users -- supposedly 50 million of them -- who were not consulted.They have proven by these actions that they cannot be trusted and deserve the utmost of caution in visiting their web site.  Child privacy is highly at risk since children are unlikely to understand the consequences of the craftily written provisions in the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service agreements. Stay clear!

WTF.... Ghostery is a tracker itself.... normal, Ghostery is NOT an open-source program but a program made by AN ADVERTISING SOCIETY!!!!!!!!! Pfff. ***** (French) Prefer an extentions like ublock origin, do not track me (blur), easyprivacy subscribe list for adblockers.

Ghostly claims to protect the user from pop-ups. But, when you click their link, Ghostery's pitch is to site owners not those of us questing the web. But it performs like malware: the link in the top right hand corner of the offending pop-up, promises to rid you of this objectionable "stalking". But, when you land on their page, you are warned that clicking anywhere are the page implies your consent to the installation of their cookies. If you require more information, there is a link in the bottom right hand corner titled, "Cookie Consent" that will explain what you have just done to yourself by clicking that link.

RAS pour le site, même pas de Google analytics, c'est assez rare pour être souligné. Le service en lui même est tout simplement génial, bien pensé et incontournable pour tout internaute qui se respecte. Je flag cependant en "Online tracking" par rapport à la fonctionnalité GhostRank, fonctionnalité qui est cependant désactivée par défaut. The IE extension is impossible to uninstall through conventional method (Uninstaller & Program & Features) on my fresh Windows 8.1 x64. You have to remove it via a tool called AdwCleaner which is specialized in removing adware and PUP. Not only Ghostery IE not working with IE x64 with Enhanced Protected Mode, it's also a hassle to removed. This is unacceptable and unethical in my book.
